NAMI MinnesotaMore than 2,000 Join NAMIWalks MinnesotaMore than 2,000 walkers joined in the 2009 NAMIWalks, making it the largest public awareness event about mental illness ever held in Minnesota. One walker commented, "WOW! What a fabulous event! It was once again very emotional seeing the waves of people walking for mental illness. What a great day for mental illness! What a great day for NAMI!" Held Sept. 26 at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, it was the third year for this terrific event. Over $283,000 was raised for NAMI's programs.
